With a client as visionary as Teads — an innovative, industry-leading digital advertising company — and a structure as iconic as a River North brick walk-up, Inspired Interiors set out to create an office space that would reflect the highly inventive output of a tight-knit creative team.

In envisioning Teads’ new Chicago headquarters, Inspired Interiors founder Emily Mackie considered the needs (and desires!) of a hard-working, fun-loving staff along with the parameters of the office space to mirror the spirited corporate culture in its surroundings. Custom workstations were built out of weathered wood, while the executive offices were tailored to each individual’s passions (including one plastered with vintage vinyl records and another showcasing a wall of curiously unfurled film reels sourced on eBay).

Auctions were scoured for gotta-have-’em gems — vintage gaming machines, intriguing furnishings with a storied past, the odd taxidermy piece to suspend above the space’s existing brick fireplaces. A colorful sunburst-patterned mural made of men’s ties was hung in the conference room.

“It is design gone wild,” summates Mackie of this playful, pleasure-inducing project.
