James Bond meets Ralph Lauren. Can you imagine a more evocative pairing for creating the ultimate bachelor pad?
When setting about designing a luxury condo in Chicago’s renowned Ritz-Carlton Residences for a gentleman recently returned from a multiyear overseas contract, Inspired Interiors founder Emily Mackie and her team pulled out all of the stops. Centered around the client’s collection of Pop Art and Americana images from the 1950s and ‘60s (think iconic Lichtenstein and Warhol), Inspired Interiors conceived private and social spaces celebrating a life well lived and a bold embrace of “masculine glam.”
A passionate drummer with a penchant for performing for VIP guests, the client needed a home that reflected his authentic self. Displaying his drum kit front and center in the living room was an exciting start, followed by the installation of custom mirrored bookcases to showcase years of memorabilia from touring with (in)famous bands. A custom corner window seat with a pedestal table creates another focal point and a cozy area for exclusive entertaining.
The swanky, sophisticated accents continue throughout the space, including a vintage record player set next to the bathtub for (very) private listening sessions and an indulgent bedroom starring a Macassar ebony built-in bedroom set complete with custom upholstered headboard and vintage mirrors on the ceiling that would put even Frank Sinatra to shame.
