Vibrant Ravinia Residence

Like many homeowners, our client was sick of the underused and underwhelming spaces in her home located in the Highland Park/Ravinia neighborhood of Chicago. She brought in Inspired Interiors to inject energy, her colorful personality, and Indian heritage into her foyer, dining room, living room, powder room, and sunroom.

The first floor of the home was full of lifeless spaces that neither the client nor her family was using. Our Inspired Interiors team worked to reclaim these valuable spaces in her home and bring them back to life by infusing them with the client's vibrant and unique personality. A key element to this transformation was creating a flow from room to room that allowed for easy movement throughout the home.

Starting from the front door, we overhauled the foyer to make a statement the moment you walk in. Once you step inside you’re greeted by twin, full-length mirrors flanking you on either side with tempered glass shelves. This allows the light from this old home to filter better through the entryway.

By finding the right pieces to take the living room from desolate furniture graveyard to cherished space for intimate moments, the client and her husband now enjoy quality time together on the curved and comfortable sofas in front of the reinvented fireplace.

The sunroom was perhaps the most underutilized space in the home and had been overtaken by mismatched furniture and children’s toys. With light pouring in from an abundance of windows and a view overlooking the backyard, we seized the opportunity to reclaim the room with a chic l-shaped banquette and table, a cozy reading nook, and space for the piano. The room comes to life with vibrant artwork, colors, and patterns that harken back to her Indian heritage.

Keeping with the effervescent aesthetic while maintaining a focus on maximizing the space, the dining room evolves from cramped and clunky to fabulously functional by incorporating a luxurious banquet and table set along the wall to open up circulation throughout the home and making the room feel spacious.

The powder room was overhauled to go from ‘meh’ to ‘wow’, proving that even a small space can be transformed by impactful design. The custom vanity, lively wallpaper, and elegant lighting now match the energy and style of the rest of the first floor
